As some of you already know, the Progressive Coaches Organization began back during the summer of 2008 and lifted off with the Tennessee Valley Prospective Coaches Clinic in March of 2009. The clinic was a great success and much was to be learned from the list of speakers who graciously attended, including:
Robbie Caldwell (Vanderbilt University) Josh Niblett (Hoover High School)
Cody Gross (Colbert County H.S.) John Mothershed (Deshler High School)
Jere Adcock (Decatur High School) Allen Creasy (Athens High School)
Barry Daniel (Clements High School) Dave Wilkerson (Northeast Mississippi)
B.J. Armstrong (Athens High School) Greg Patterson (Sumiton Christian)
Joey Burch (Danville High School) Sam Graham (Oxford High School)
and others....
The mission and purpose of the Progressive Coaches Organization is to organize, educate, and further advance the coaching skills and capabilities of young coaches. The organization targets young coaches in the profession and college-age students who intend to coach.
As the organization is in the stage of growing, I would like any input from coaches as to the objectives of the organization. I am currently working on the constitution and by-laws of the organization as well as ideas for the future including an accreditted "coaching school" for college students who intend to coach. Please feel free to post any suggestions for the organization or contact me personally through email.
Also look for future events of the organization, including a partnership event with the ALFCA in January of 2010.
