We are picked by 30 at home tomorrow night in a MUST WIN situation. Win and we are in. Last time we were picked by 30 at home this year, we blew a 12 point halftime lead. Homefield Advantage hasn't been as sweet this year.
We are currently 5-4, 3-2 in district...We have lost 3 games by a combined 10 points (6,3,1)...2 District losses by a combined 7 points...Literally 3 plays away from being 8-1 and undefeated district champs!! We have lost 3 2-way starters for the year... OL/DL with a torn ACL…

Two former C.H.A.M.P.S. Athletes were on this team; one of whom was my son who rocked a double in the 8th inning ultimately scoring the winning run and the other was the closer who sealed up the victory by shutting down the opponents.

Note: This is a re-posting of my latest blog post on 1MileNation.com, in response to seeing an article on how some marathons are looking at cut-off times in races, to help reduce time constraints and public safety needs for those races.
Greetings,
I know I already posted a blog today, but I got the buzz to post another one, more or less a good old fashioned "Rickshaw Rant on Running".

In March of 2009, we held the 1st Annual HISD Senior Football Showcase at Milby High School. We had 190 HISD Senior football players and over 20 D3 and NAIA colleges represented here. Over 130 scholarship offers were given.
We are planning the 2nd Annual HISD Senior Showcase to be held on February 20, 2010. This event is FREE OF CHARGE. The more Houston area kids we get seen, the more kids go to COLLEGE. We are in the process of obtaining the Houston Texans practice facility for the event. 3 pr…

As a sports parent or coach it's your job to understand anger management. Anger erupts too often on the field and can carry over into aggressiveness at school and at home.
This comes direct from Joe Bouffard, Director of the Youth Football Coaches Association, a group that educates coaches about how to handle anger in youth sports.
First of all, coaches need to understand why kids get angry, he says, That means asking their athletes the right questions. Parents can help with this process by in…

Even though we lost 44-0 to defending District Champion Madison, there were many bright spots for the Buffs. Edder Moreno, 5'8", 175lb LB had 20 tackles last night. This gives him 101 for the year in only 6 games. He has 15 tackles ofr loss, 5 sacks, 4 caused fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries. Jesus Morales, our other LB is 5'8" 200lb's, he had 19 tackles last night. This give Jesus 91 for the year, in 6 games, 11 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 4 caused fumbles, 4 recoveries, and 1 TD. We lost last Thursday night to open district play 51-0. The kids played hard, no excuses! We suited up 25 kids for a varisty game. 3 seniors on the team, the rest are sophomores and juniors.
We play thisThursday against Madison, (Vince Young's high school). They are good, but very beatable. We try to even our district record at 1-1, and our season record at 3-3.

To begin with Varsity struggled again last week and we have a tought opponent again this week. Our JV team however, seems to be figuring things out. We have won two in a row. Beating Farmville Central last week 34-12 and beating West Craven this week 22-6. They are playing as a team, which is the greatest thing for me to see. I will give the example of this. Our back-up quarterback had earned some playing time at the position, not that our starter was playing bad at all, he had been playing very…

We lost a heart breaker 22-13 on Saturday night. IF we get two blocks, on two seperate plays, we go 14-0 on our first two drives. We get in stack tripps formation and they put two guys outside w/us. oth of my guys block the invert on both plays. All we hve to do is get a piece of the corner and we score twice. We ran the tunnel and bubble and forget to block the corner. Free Safety is is the middle of the field 25 yds from us, will never catch us. Instead of touchdowns, we get 15 yds on each cat…
